3 Hermanas: Reviews & Ratings
I’m so happy I live so close to the best burrito in Sac!! Seriously so so good. I got the super burrito and wouldn’t change a thing. It’s comparable to the ones I’ve had in San Diego. The atmosphere of this place is fantastic. Love the local art and the colorful interior. Perfect place for a margarita.
Dora was so welcoming and outgoing. We brought our son and our elderly parents. My Mom and Dad are in assisted living and Dad is in Hospice. He is 95 years old. The food was delicious, and the staff were very attentive. It was a wonderful lunch that became an event. Thank You Dora for making it so wonderful.
It’s Friday (2/24) dinner and it’s just my wife and my daughter. Getting here is just an easy ride down J street. Parking was easy along the neighborhood area. The restaurant is fairly small compared to the other Tres Hermanas location. We were able to get a table quickly (was around 6pm) without having to wait. Our server was great. She was polite and very hospitable. She took our order which included a combination plate (Verde Burrito with side of Enchilada) and Dinner Plate (Verde plate). The food came out fresh from the kitchen within 10-15 minutes from ordering. It was very delicious. Not overly seasoned and packed with flavors. The pork pieces were very tender. The side of rice with the beans turned out very good too. My wife enjoyed her meal as well. We did order drinks (2 margaritas) but unfortunately both were very disappointing. My wife got a Patron Margarita and I got their House 3 Hermanas Margarita. Neither of us can taste the tequila in the drink. The sweet and sour they used overwhelmed the cocktail - Not fresh at all. At about $14-$15 a drink, it was a complete dud and fell very short of expectations. We are used to quality cocktails from other well established Mexican Eateries in the Sacramento area. Our bill came to about $90 with tax and tips for two meals (wife and daughter shared a plate), two cocktails, and a soda. That’s rather high for the mixed experience. Here are the ratings: Restaurant (5/5), Service (5/5), Food (5/5), Drinks (1/5), Value to Price Ratio (2.5/5), and Overall Experience (3.5/5). We would probably order from here again but would do it “To Go” instead just for the food. We would stay away from their cocktails or just get something from tap (e.g. Beer) instead. 3 Hermanas… Good Food, Good Service, but Bad Drinks. We originally were going to eat @ Tres Hermanas but they are closed on Mondays. So, we decided to try 3 Hermanas . It is smaller than "Tres" but very clean and comfortable atmosphere. Parking is available behind the restaurant. Chips and salsa were excellent. (Only one free refill offered. Same with sodas and tea. After second refill you get charged again. ) We ordered three taco combo plates, served with rice and beans. Food took longer than expected to reach our table. Two of our entrees were prepared wrong. (All beans no rice, served with rice and beans. Beef taco, served with chicken and no cheese.) Food was served hot and tasty. Service was excellent, except for the aforementioned above. The food was good, though.
The food was flavorful, the chips were crispy, and the salsa had the right amount of heat. We ate our meal in the outside dining area that was available. After our food arrived, I felt like we were forgotten about. Out of sight, out of mind, maybe? The menu prices were a tad on the high side for me for mexican food.
Just got food to go this time. I love this place and get the same darn thing every time. Yum!! Always welcoming, always delicious!
Finally found the one, highest quality beef I’ve had in a burrito at a Mexican restaurant. Highly recommend, prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. And to top it all off fantastic service.
This is my favorite place to eat authentic Mexican food. From the Albondigas (meatball) soup, to the chicken mole enchiladas, and the Pork Tamal. The food and vibe brings such a welcoming and home-type feel. From the beautiful art on the wall, to the tasty homemade foods, all the way down to the delicious chips and salsa. It reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking every time. The owner is such a sweet woman who cares for her customers, and truly welcomes them with a smile and good conversation. If you’re ever in the area, check it out, it never disappoints.

Welcome to **3 Hermanas**, a cozy gem nestled at 3260 J St, Sacramento, CA. This quaint eatery is not just a restaurant; it's a vibrant escape celebrating the rich flavors of Mexican cuisine. Renowned for its warm atmosphere adorned with local art, 3 Hermanas is a favorite among locals seeking a delightful dining experience accompanied by their favorite margarita.
Guests rave about the standout dishes here, particularly the super burrito, which has earned accolades for its remarkably balanced flavors and generous portions, bringing to mind those delicious offerings found in San Diego. The reviews are glowing, with one satisfied customer, Erin Smith, declaring it the best burrito in Sacramento. The inviting ambiance coupled with colorful decor makes it a perfect backdrop for family gatherings or casual outings with friends.
What sets 3 Hermanas apart is not only the flavor-packed offerings but also the exceptional service. Many patrons have noted the warmth and hospitality of the staff, particularly Dora, who has made guests feel welcome, creating memorable dining experiences, even for those needing a little extra care. With comfortable seating and a clean environment, this place invites you to relax and savor every bite.
The food quality shines through in every dish served, from the verde burrito to the taco combo plates. While a few reviews hint at minor hiccups in order accuracy and drink quality, the general consensus remains that the food itself is fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Many diners, like Eddie Lieu, have commented on the tenderness of the meats and the excellent preparation of the rice and beans, suggesting these staples are perfectly executed.
Outside of the delicious food, there is a small caveat regarding the drink offerings, particularly the cocktails, which some have found wanting. Priced at $14-$15, they unfortunately did not meet expectations for many patrons. A suggestion to stick with classic beer or non-alcoholic options may be playful advice for future visits.
All things considered, **3 Hermanas** is a warmly recommended choice for those exploring Sacramento’s vibrant dining scene.
